Great food, great service, great atmosphere! The Art of War was written on the ceiling and the bill was delivered in the pages of a copy of the book. Within the pages, previous patrons left quotes, important dates, inspirational notes, drawings etc. The Moroccan meatballs were delectable, entrees we had the ravioli, the mahi-mahi, the salmon, and the fried chicken. All of them were delicious and highly recommended.

Such a beautiful historic venue with unique modern details. Sam was our server, and he did amazing! I have a gluten allergy, and he made substitution suggestions without me even asking for them. The pricing is amazing for brunch as well. Absolutely make a reservation to ensure you can enjoy this Charleston gem.

really excellent dinner experience at this restaurant. they pack people in tightly, but the food was really exceptional. we received prompt and courteous service, as well as some interesting cocktail combinations. we would go back for the lobster risotto again! we also tried Sunday brunch on another occasion recently. though the dinner menu was much better. all in all though we would recommend Church and Union!

Service was absolutely top notch. We had a super long wait for our food (about 45 minutes) due to a very large corporate event on a Saturday night but we were checked on by two managers and the chef even came out to thank us for our patience. The food was excellent and perfectly cooked when it did finally arrive and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Very nice place right by the old market area. An old church turned into an upscale (but not overly fancy) place for a nice night out. The bar area is fun (a bit loud, but not bad) and an excellent groups of bartenders. The dinner menu is small but full of high quality items. The steaks (and the sauce!) are very good. The ravioli was very good. The pasta cooked perfectly. Maybe a little too much cheese on the inside. Sauce was a tad sweet. But very good. Service was excellent. Our waiter (“Sam”) was very pleasant and on point with drinks and quick attention to detail. Overall, a great restaurant for an upper casual night out in Charleston.

Great experience! Food was delicious and served quickly. Really unique looking inside, like a church since it used to be a church. Bailey was a great server.

This is such a unique experience. It is a 115-year-old church with the original stained glass. The Art of War is handwritten on the ceiling in chalk. A stunning bar. The staff were excellent. The food is incredible and well-priced. This is a must-do in Charleston SC.

Everything was delicious. The ravioli with the chicken was a nice blend. The meatballs where a nice blend of flavors. The burger is what I received and had a good blend of spices, the fries where a smidge salty for my tastes but good still. The meatloaf was also good had a smidge of a sweetness to it. I'd get all of them.
